Well I liked your photographs. I was fourteen at the beginning of that godforsaken decade, and it took until the middle of the nineties to recover. One icon you missed, being American, was one Margaret Thatcher. A woman who was quite insane. The feel and tone of you images do, despite your American perspective, hit home a number of times. Thank you for sharing.

I absolutely love your photos of Kansas. (I live in Wichita.)
You have great knack for perfect comp. The one at the track with the leg on the left is phenomenal.

Truly great shots.

Loved the "trip" back in time, especially the composition of the "Track and Field" photo! If I'm not mistaken, the "Police" photo looks like Stewart Copeland, not Sting.

Beautiful work. Your composition appeals to me, even when the subject wouldn't seem to be of interest. A very helpful skill for a photographer.

The pic "Inappropriate Footwear", i knew that sculpture looked familiar. It's the metal sculpture outside the rocket science building at KU yes? I lived in Hash Hall and used to walk over to the same structure, climb it, and smoke cigarettes. Thanks for the burst of nostalgia. I grew up in the area and always appreciate someone with an eye for open spaces photography.

I came here for the Bob Mould picture, and was surprised to see the picture of "Bubbles" and the Orange Doe-nuts (the ODs).

I forget that girl's real name, but I remember that I once bought her a Nachos Bel Grande after a Henry Rollins show.

Tremendously great work!! In your photo " Bubbles and the O.D.'s" (1984) The blond girl in the foreground is my friend, Kerry. That was my scene (KCMO underground) from '83-87, did you ever hang at the OD's ranch, or the Slab's manor back then? I would love to see more of your work, do you have an online portfolio or gallery rep? All the best!

Steve,
I'm pleased to have found your site. I saw a photo of the Residents 1985. I was nearly certain you shot them at Cogburns. The show was February 2, 1986. Is the pic not from that night or is the date wrong. Your photos are really good. I'm not done looking yet. I'm still in Lawrence. Kids are grown now and either in school, teaching school, or getting ready to go to school. How have you been? Where are you?
